About the Lyndonville Lions Club

What is the Lions Club?

Lions meet the needs of local communities and the world. Our 1.35 million members – who perform community service in 208 countries and geographic areas – are different in many ways, but share a core belief: community is what we make it.

When you join Lions, you join a global service network. So, at the same time you’re doing local community service, you can also contribute to Lions volunteer efforts around the world.

To empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.

What do we do?

    Local Community Projects

    Lions are active in communities around the world. Guided by our motto, "We Serve," Lions take on projects that address local needs, support neighbors, and strengthen communities. From community improvement efforts to programs that assist families, seniors, and local organizations, Lions make a difference through hands-on volunteerism. Together, more than 1.4 million Lions serve in communities across the globe.

    Lions Give Sight

    Vision has been a core Lions cause for more than a century. Through vision screenings, eye health awareness, support for clinics and hospitals, and the international SightFirst Program, Lions work to prevent avoidable blindness and improve access to quality eye care. These efforts help protect and restore sight while expanding services to people who need them most in communities around the world.

    Lions Serve Youth

    Youth development is a long-standing Lions commitment. Lions invest in the next generation through scholarships, mentoring, leadership development, recreation programs, and volunteer opportunities. Programs such as the Peace Poster Contest, Lions Quest, and Youth Camps and Exchange help young people learn, grow, and serve. Today, approximately 144,000 Leos participate in 5,700 Leo Clubs across more than 140 countries worldwide.

    Lions Award Grants

    Through the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), Lions support humanitarian projects that create lasting impact in communities worldwide. Since 1968, LCIF has awarded more than $700 million in grants supporting disaster relief, vision initiatives, youth programs, hunger relief, and community development efforts. These grants help communities meet immediate needs while building stronger futures for generations to come.
